Anecdote (fam). I believe that he had a son born Nov 1860 with Mary Jane Stimpson (her parents were: Brice Stimpson "Goldbeater" and Anne Fowler, Eng and I have done a lot of research on them & Mary Jane) David & Mary Jane didn't marry and the son was named John James Mackay/Parkes. Believe he was bapt. Mackay - regis as Parkes as Mary Jane was "Widow Parkes" at that time.

She came to Aust as a 'Bounty Girl' and married Ensign Charles Elton from a well-todo English Bristol family - Bought land Bombala, had 5 children and Elton died - She remarried to Isaac Parkes, had another 5 children and he died - Had a son with David, but didn't marry and then she married again to John William Smith and died soon after and is buried with her 1st husland at 'Aston Cemetery' near Bombala4
